Our Females spend relatively little of their time in the whelping box. They are shown to their AKC and/or Can Championship and they must pass a battery of genetic screening tests. If they clear those two hurtles, then it is up to us to find just the right mate for each female. The male we choose may or may not be in our kennel or owned by us.
Our girls are bred very few times, sometimes only once or twice in their life.
They spend the majority of their life as our companions and house pets. Although we do have outdoor kennels and use them as needed, in most cases, our dogs are running in our fenced six acres, are inside, or are lounging in the sun (that is when we get sun in the Pacific Northwest!).
